In an interview with Rajshree Marathi, Priya said, ‘I got trolled a lot for sharing a bikini photo from Australia, but I stayed quiet back then. Some of my fans supported me, though. I feel like we sometimes use Marathi culture as an excuse too easily. I don’t like that. What I wear doesn’t define my culture. It’s about how I treat people, how I behave, and my family’s values. It’s not about my clothes. I won’t let anyone say that wearing a saree is good and a bikini is bad.’

Priya added, ‘Judging someone based on their clothes is wrong. Some even said I shared those photos because I have no work. But wearing a bikini doesn’t guarantee success in my profession. I only care if my family thinks I did something wrong. People should understand that artists have personal lives too, with their own likes and dislikes.’
