Dingko Singh’s biopic has been shelved: Raja Krishna Menon reveals that after several delays Dingko Singh’s biopic starring Shahid Kapoor has been shelved.
“Pippa,” a war drama, is the first time Menon and Ishaan Khattar are teaming up. But Menon’s connection with the Khattar family goes back to 2018 when there were talks of him working with Shahid Kapoor on a movie about Dingko Singh, a former boxing champ and Asian Games gold medalist. Despite Menon saying in 2019 that they’d started working on the script, delays caused by prior commitments of Shahid and Menon have now led to the project being scrapped.

In an interview with News18 Showsha, Menon said, “The film is not happening. It was a boxing story we were discussing. There was a time for it. Sometimes, you need to move on.” He added, “But Shahid is a dear friend. We’ve spent a lot of time together, talking about various things and ideas.”
Menon stresses the importance of taking things slow and waiting for the right script and character for a collaboration with Shahid. “Shahid and I talk about ideas a lot, but, as Ishaan says, if a subject comes up, it has to do justice to many things, including the character Shahid needs to play. There are bigger factors in terms of the story we want to tell. Hopefully, we’ll find a script that works. We’re friends, and I’ve realized I just want to make films with friends,” he explains.

As for “Pippa,” which was released on Amazon Prime Video on November 10, Menon explains the shift from the original plan of a theatrical release. He believes Amazon’s wide reach will bring the film to a larger audience. Starring Ishaan Khattar and Mrunal Thakur, “Pippa” is in the spotlight.
On the acting front, Shahid Kapoor’s latest movie was Ali Abbas Zafar’s “Bloody Daddy.” The actor will soon be seen in a romantic drama alongside Kriti Sanon.
